When the Education Foundation of Niagara is named as a partial or full beneficiary of your RRSP of RRIF, a charitable receipt can be applied for up to 100% of net income in the year of death and the preceding year.
Gifts of publicly traded stocks and securities provide you with a tax receipt determined by the fair market value on the date received. And should there be a capital gain, there will be no capital gains tax payable.
