This program matches students with free prescription glasses, thanks to our many program partners!
Before Applying: Please find out if the family is receiving benefits of any kind, such as Ontario Works, Disability,Benefits, etc. If this is the case then they will already have the opportunity to receive the prescription glasses they would require and do not qualify for our Glasses for Classes program.
To Apply: Please complete the online form below. Please note: Students who are younger than 20 years of age are covered by OHIP for a routine eye examination provided by either an optometrist or physician once every 12 months plus any follow-up assessments that may be required.
Conditions to be eligible for this program:
Students must have a valid OHIP card. The exam is to occur at this office only, and the student must not have had an eye exam within the last year. The student can proceed to fill the prescription at the same location.
Once approved, a letter of recommendation will be sent to Principal with the participating Glasses for Classes partner. At that time the student family must call and make an appointment for an eye exam, get prescription and then choose frame as per store policy. *Different stores have different policies, so the letter of recommendation must be presented prior to choosing frame"
